In the latest e-cigarette notification update from Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) we were informed they will not be issuing requests for payment of the annual fee for the 2020/21 year.
E-cigarette Assessor for MHRA, Dami Elugbadebo, said “The numbers of new and published notifications have remained consistent during the past 12 months. Although our costs have increased to handle the volume, we have calculated that the income from the initial notification fee will be sufficient to cover the costs of running the notification scheme for 2020/21.”
The MHRA have decided not to charge producers the annual fee of £60 due for each notification or the substantial modification fee in 2020/21. This means that the single £150 notification fee will cover initial processing, publishing and checking for completeness of a new notification and also the ongoing costs of supervisory functions and safety surveillance through the Yellow Card scheme for 2020/21.
ADACT are taking this as an opportunity to also remind you to keep your notifications up to date and to withdraw any inactive notifications from the EU-CEG portal.
