Lithuania joins Estonia, Finland, Hungary and Ukraine, in having a flavour ban for e-liquids in law. The Lithuanian rules come into force on July 1, 2022 and includes nicotine containing and nicotine free vape products. Denmark’s flavour ban will take effect April 1, 2022 and the Netherlands, is set to take effect July 1, 2022 (but not in law yet and subject to dispute). ⠀
⠀
Upcoming flavour bans in Europe include:⠀
• Denmark on 1 April 2022 ⠀
• Lithuania on 1 July 2022⠀
• Netherlands on 1 July 2022 (but not in law yet and subject to dispute)⠀
⠀
The number of countries that have taken a backward step with regards to Tobacco Harm Reduction and have chosen cheap headlines over the health and wellbeing of their citizens is growing. When these leaders will be taken to task by their electorate is yet to be seen, but these kind of bans have a habit of spreading and so we expect this list to grow in 2022. ⠀
