CBD stability testing

At ADACT, we offer CBD stability testing. The purpose of stability testing is to ascertain the shelf life of a product and provide key data on how quality and safety vary with time under a number of environmental factors such as temperature, humidity and light.

We recommend that stability testing is performed on all packaging and flavour formats.

How we conduct stability testing

We store samples in two different environmental conditions to mimic what happens during the life cycle of a product i.e. on the shelf and with the consumer:

• 20 degrees C (ambient)

• 35 degrees C + Relative Humidity of 60% (accelerated). 

We record the findings over five key timepoints in a 12 month period. Under each time point, we triple test each product sample. Average calculations provide us with the most accurate results to determine the concentration of cannabinoids using our HPLC instrument. The degradation rate from this data is used to determine the expiry date and product shelf-life. Ultimately, this information is used to produce accurate information for your packaging labels.
