At ADACT, we offer CBD stability testing. The results from stability testing indicate the shelf life of product(s) and provide key data on quality and safety. Storage conditions is important as factors such as heat and light can affect their stability and quality.
We recommend that stability testing is performed on all packaging and flavour formats.
Samples are stored in two different environmental conditions to mimic what happens during their life cycle i.e. on the shelf and with the consumer:
- 20 degrees C (ambient)
- 35 degrees C + Relative Humidity of 60% (accelerated).
We record the findings over five key timepoints in a 12 month period. Under each time point, we triple test each product sample. Average calculations provide us with the most accurate results to determine the concentration of cannabinoids using our HPLC instrument. The degradation rate from this data is used to determine the expiry date and product shelf-life. Ultimately, this information is used to produce accurate information for your packaging labels.
