ADACT Medical has recently conducted black cohosh testing for the Daily Mail. A recent in-depth investigation published by the UK’s Daily Mail Online on 13 November 2023, highlighted that popular herbal menopause remedies containing black cohosh – and promoted on Amazon and Google – have very low (or dangerously high) levels of the key ingredients, as tested.
To find out more, the Mail sent samples of menopause supplements to ADACT – our laboratory in Yorkshire, UK specialises in testing healthcare products and traditional herbal medicines (THR’s).
Our scientists conducted two tests on the samples: one to see if they contained black cohosh, and another to measure the amount of black cohosh in each tablet. To read the Mail’s investigation, click here.
